RECRUITING NOW!
Through the NEET programme we offer alternatives for young people who are Not in Employment, Not in Education and not in Training as well as those who are disadvantaged and their needs are not sufficiently met by mainstream education.
This programme offers young people a choice of four learning pathways – Sport, Music, Engineering and Enterprise. They gain both vocational and functional skills (literacy & ICT) along with the knowledge and attitude needed to progress in life and the workplace. We engage learners through their interest in their chosen subject and use this as a medium to train, motivate and focus them.
Our approach to learning is one of empowerment - equipping learners with the tools they need to acquire knowledge, develop skills and abilities. Learning involves experiential activity and a variety of teaching techniques such as tutorials, seminars, research, keeping of logs/diaries, building portfolios, ‘fieldwork’, self-guided work, written reports, use of audio or video, practical exercises, guest speakers, class discussions and e-learning.
This rich and varied learning environment balances ‘classroom teaching’ time with assessments time devoted to accredited courses. This helps to ensure that our learners leave as well-rounded individuals, able to transfer their learning to study, employment or business.
All learners benefit from key work support that helps them to identify their next destination. We support every learners progression through linkages with local FE providers, apprenticeships, employment or volunteering.
